Services Screw Element Reconditioning
Reconditioning / Overhauling of Screw Elements
About the work
Following a proper work procedure is important while carrying out the reconditioning of a screw
element. The screw element (airend) is a continuously rotating part and the most important
component in a screw compressor. Because of operating conditions such as high RPM, elevated
temperatures, and dust particles entering the rotors, its operating life is limited. Under best
maintenance and operating practices, it is expected to reach thirty-five thousand hours, while
some screw elements require reconditioning earlier.
We repair screw elements using a seven-point quality-check and repair process. This restores
performance in a cost-effective way and gives the element a renewed operating life. Cleaning,
rotor balancing, and thrust-load checking are some of the key process points.
